There's no place like home! (or like Kansas!)

I'm a such a slacker and so behind on this blog it's ridiculous. Oh well. Anyway, Oliver and I went to Lawrence Kansas for his Great Grammy's 85th birthday! It was very cold for him but fun for me because I got to dress him up in big jackets that he would otherwise never get to wear! And he had a great time getting to know his great-gramma as well as the rest of the family and his 2nd cousin (or cousin twice removed or once removed or however that works). Here are some of my favorite pics although there were many great ones!

The Giraffe and the Dragon!

Halloween has always been one of my very favorite holidays (large amount of candy consumption, planning and creating of the costume, and large amounts of alcohol consumption typically in the Castro!) but now it's even more fun because I've substituted the drinking with dressing up a baby! And it's really just as much fun if not more! (well okay, I still had a glass of wine as well). Anyway, here are some great pictures of Ollie as a dragon and a couple shots with his gorgeous cousin, Annabel, as a giraffe. Note that Oliver is crying because it's actually the day after halloween, a million degrees outside, and he hasn't napped. Still, how cute are they?

Oliver's first car

It may not be a ferrari or porsche but Ollie loves it!

Oliver's first meal

Sorry it's been so long since I updated this - we've been moving which I'm sure everyone knows is a bit time consuming anyway and especially difficult with a 6 month old. However, we did finally start solids for poor neglected Oliver - once we moved. After about an hour of trying to figure out how to grind up oatmeal and mix it the right consistency with breastmilk Oliver got his first taste of real food! Here are the pics of that (the video is much funnier but I haven't figured how to post it quite yet).

The 4 Scotts together!

This is pretty cool...4 generations of Scotts/Gaustads! And Great Grandpa holding Oliver while Uncle Evan tries to make him laugh. I couldn't resist the sunglass picture from the same weekend even though it looks like Evan may have momentarily forgotten you don't usually hold babies by their neck! (oliver says thanks for the sunglasses Alicia!)

Little Firecracker

For the fourth of July my family all came out for a visit including Oliver's great grandpa! Though the pictures of Oliver and and great grandpa are still pending, here's a couple cute ones with uncle Evan (cute little firecracker outfit courtesy of auntie Monique! Thanks for Ollie's first fourth outfit!) More pics to come of the 4 generations of middle named Scotts!

Baby in a Bunting

Unfortunately, Oliver decided to be born the wrong month in the wrong place...he hasn't been able to wear the awesome bunting his Gramma Mimi made him except for when he was up north visiting her and it was actually cold enough. However, he was really happy the couple nights he got to be in it! Thanks Gramma!

Auntie Julie and Uncle Brian came to see me...

And my mom didn't get any pictures of them with me because she's not very smart! At least here is a picture of me in the onesie/cape they got me! The flash on the camera kept scaring me but I still tried to take a cute picture. Thanks Julie and Brian!

This is why we avoid family pictures...

Dominic and I believe we may be the least photogenic people on this planet (we're hoping Oliver will break the curse!), which is why we haven't put up any fam pics...until this one which isn't horrible because I'd had my hair and make up professionally done for a wedding. Anyway, I had to put it up because Oliver looked so cute in that hawaiian shirt! I guess he is a litte "keiki" after all!

Fishies

Alicia, my amazing photographer friend, took a bunch of fantastic pictures of Oliver the other day and her pictures are actually the basis for the name of this site (his two favorite things - ceiling fans and fishies). Here's a preview - one of my favorites - but check out her blogsite for more - afikse.wordpress.com

My Favorite Place

Here's Oliver's favorite place - the changing table. This is a pretty bad quality video but at least you can get an idea of how much fun he has on his changing table every morning!

Oliver and Froggie

Here's a couple pictures of Oliver with his new favorite friend Froggie. Froggie was handmade by Auntie Heidi and he is the softest most loveable frog ever. Thank you Auntie Heidi!

I'm Here!

and I have been for almost four months now. Mom sometimes slacks so we will spend this first blog catching up. Mom says that this blog will be a great way for you to get to know me and see how fast I am growing! Most of my days are spent taking in the ceiling fans and I love talking to the fishies while swinging in my favorite chair. Oh but now Mommy and I go on a lot of stroller rides. The other babies tell her to go faster. Tomorrow I am going to the doctor's again. Mommy is making daddy go too. I am slighly suspicious because last time there were some ouchy pokes involved. Think about me tomorrow! Mommy might have a hard time too. In the mean time here are some shots for you to enjoy!

Look how little I was! Now I am a big boy

Stay tuned more to come! Mommy hired a professional!
